Booking a session

Before we visit

What do you need us to provide?
A room with tables and power, and one adult present. We bring robot kits, laptops, materials and the volunteers. This is the same whether we are visiting a school, a church or a community space.
What age group is it for?
Mostly elementary students, and junior high students from time to time. Sessions are pitched so a child with no computer experience can finish, while faster children move on to text-based Python.
Is there a cost?
No. It is completely free. We are privately funded and we have never charged a school, a church or any other venue.
How far do you travel?
Anywhere in Taiwan we can physically get to. We are based in Taipei and have already made trips to Tainan, Chiayi and Taitung. Ask us: distance is a logistics problem, not a no.

Equipment, language, and using our materials

Can we use your materials without you visiting?
Yes, and we would rather you did than not run it at all. Our classroom materials are published in full on the curriculum page, free to copy and adapt.
Do the children need their own computers?
No. We bring laptops. If your school has its own, that helps us run larger groups, and nothing needs to be installed on them.
Which language is the session taught in?
繁體中文 by default, and English if a school would rather. Not every volunteer speaks Chinese as a first language, but every session is taught in it. Our materials are bilingual either way, so a child can switch the screen to English whenever they want the English terms.
